When You Belittle, You Become Little Here are four questions you need to be able to answer: 1) Do people feel better about themselves after spending time with you?  2) Are your expectations so high that you focus on people’s shortcomings  instead of their strengths?  3) When somebody speaks well of a person you don’t particularly like, do you feel the need to inject a disparaging remark? 4) Are you so insecure and lacking in self-worth that you only feel good about yourself by putting others down?

Why Attitude Is More Important Than Intelligence

Why Attitude Is More Important Than Intelligence   When it comes to success, it’s easy to think that people blessed with brains are inevitably going to leave the rest of us in the dust. But new research from Stanford University will change your mind (and your attitude). Psychologist Carol Dweck has spent her entire career studying attitude and performance, and her latest study shows that your attitude is a better predictor of your success than your IQ. Dweck found that people’s core attitudes fall into one of two categories: a fixed mindset or a growth mindset. With a fixed mindset, you believe you are who you are and you cannot change. This creates problems when you’re challenged because anything that appears to be more than you can handle is bound to make you feel hopeless and overwhelmed. People with a growth mindset believe that they can improve with effort. They outperform those with a fixed mindset, even when they have a lower IQ, because they embrace c...
PETROL PUMP PRICE TO GO DOWN  Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo says that the government is working to reduce the price of petroleum products by encouraging and working with private refineries and reducing importation. Osinbajo, who is in the UK to sign the Nigeria-UK solar energy agreement, told Bloomberg in an interview… “We are going to be unbundling the NNPC so that its various components are effective core centres and are able to do their business well. We are going to have private refineries at the site of the old refineries, so they can benefit from the available infrastructure. So, we think that in the medium term, we would be able to get cheaper pump price, pump price of oil would be cheaper because we would be importing far less refined petroleum. A lot of that will be produced locally. “Now, we have well over 30 modular refineries licences, so we think a lot of modular refineries would come. Many of them, their major concern is feed stock, are we going...
START THINKING CREATIVELY The Bible calls you a ‘child of God’. Stop and consider what that means. God’s creativity is already built into your DNA; your job is to recognise it, release it and put it to work. Advertising executive George Lois said, ‘Creativity can solve almost any problem. The creative act, the defeat of habit by originality, overcomes everything.’ But for your creativity to be released, you must first identify the barriers and start taking them down. Here’s a common one: ‘We've always done it this way.’ People who say that have stopped thinking for themselves. They’re just putting in their time, waiting for a pay packet and going home at the end of the day without thinking, reflecting or even considering the possibilities of change. If you’re one of these people, it’s time to wake up and start looking around you. Mind-deadening routine is the cancer of creativity. If you mindlessly go about your business the same way every day, your routine ...
Are You Selling Your Dream? In the movie Up in the Air, actor George Clooney is hired by a major corporation to handle big lay-offs.   His job is to fire people. In one scene when he’s about to fire an ageing middle manager, he notices on the man’s CV that he’d been trained as a French chef. As the man expresses despair over losing his job, Clooney reminds him of his original dream and asks him this soul-searching question: ‘Back when you started, how much did it take to buy you away from your dream?’ At that pivotal moment the middle manager thought back to the time he decided to settle for a steady pay packet in exchange for what he really wanted to do with his life. Are you doing that? Understand this: the day you were born God had a track for you to run on and an assignment for you to fulfil. So the question you must ask yourself is this: ‘Is the difficult situation I’m in right now a God-given opportunity for me to go back and fulfil the dream God gave m...

How do you start your day? How do you begin your day? Many people lose an hour in the morning, and then spend the rest of the day trying to recapture it. instead, start your day on the offensive. look out for opportunities God is sending your way. Seize the moment! Do you know that opportunities are coming to you or by you everyday? Today was once the future from which you expected so much in  the past. Doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment. When can you live if not now? John Burroughs said, 'The lesson which life repeats and constantly reinforces is, 'Look under foot.' You are always nearer than you think... The great opportunity is where you are. Do not despise your own place and hour.' The most important thing in our lives is what you are doing now. Know the real value of today.  Have a great day ahead guys.
6 Ways to Be More Productive by Working Less There’s no denying it: We live in a “more-is-more” culture. And above all else, that can-do attitude applies to work. With so much to accomplish and so many ways to stay plugged-in at all hours of the day, it can be tempting to stay in work mode from morning to night. In reality, extra time spent working doesn’t equate with an increase in productivity. In fact, a nonstop approach can have the exact opposite effect. According to Parkinson’s Law, “Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.” And if you’ve ever toiled for hours and days on a single project, you may have observed the phenomenon yourself: Long hours inevitably lead to interruptions in concentration. Although the obvious solution is to offset those disruptions with more hours of work, studies have shown that this strategy comes at a price -- increased stress, frustration, pressure and effort. It’s been well documented that too much work...
Hon Patrick Obahiagbon On Xenophobic Attacks In South Africa Hon Patrick Obahiagbon on xenophobic attacks in South Africa: "The attack on foreigners in South Africa (xenophobia) is a miasma of a deprecate apotheosis of a hemorrhaging Pluto crack, cascading oozing         into a malodorous excresense of mobocracy. With all termagant ossifying proclivities of a kakistocracy, our knowledge centura is enveloped in a paraphlegic crinkum crankum. Therefore, the lampooning is cest in deja vu, deja vu peret ologomabia"
